Efficiency control in electric drives for hydro-transport using artificial intelligence
Abstract
This work presented a procedure to evaluate the efficiency of electric drives with an induction motor that drives centrifugal pumps responsible for transporting mixtures of lateritic pulps during the process of obtaining nickel. It consisted of preparing an efficiency control scheme for the induction motor using a Feed Forward type neural network scheme operating together with a fuzzy-PI controller, tuned according to the specificities of the load torque by the centrifugal pump, to the hydro- transport mixed fluids with variable density. The control scheme used the indirect measurement of the density variable, an aspect that overcame the measurement limitations of the adverse industrial scenario. A vector control model was used in the induction motor, whose control commands are adjusted for the most appropriate speeds for the hydro transport of the lateritic pulp, where the lowest losses result.
