Abstract

The municipality of Camagüey has a complex distribution network, resulting from the interaction of the circuits coming from their four 110/13.8 kV transmission substations and the use of load blocks. In this work, an evaluation of the possible combinations for the reconfiguration of the load blocks was carried out to determine the one that is most effective in reducing the electricity consumption of the municipality, by reducing technical losses. The analysis of the distribution network configurations was carried out in the DigSILENT Power Factory software. The validation was carried out by comparing the energy consumed by the distribution network before and after making the changes in the configuration, based on the readings taken from the substation meters. At the end of one year of application, more than 8,215.14 MWh were saved.
