Desarrollo de expresion para la resistencia al fallo por choque térmico en turbinas de vapor
Development of expression for resistance to failure by thermal shock in steam turbines
Abstract
The application of risk-based maintenance technologies requires a reliability calculation methodology that is not based on failure statistics, but on the condition of the assets. The authors propose calculating reliability based on the parameters monitored for diagnosis, which characterize the evolution of the technical condition. The failure of the steam turbine due to thermal shock is analyzed, as a result of the induction of cold steam or water during operation. The conditions under which the thermal shock causes the failure are determined. These phenomena are analyzed to establish the equations that relate the mechanical properties of the rotor metal with the maximum temperature jump that it can withstand without failing. The equations obtained allow determining the parameters with which the aforementioned reliability calculation methodology can be applied.
