Abstract

Unbalanced voltage drops can lead to non-sinusoidal current injections and power oscillations at twice the fundamental
frequency of the grid in photovoltaic parks connected to the electrical system. These oscillations can damage the inverter DC
link capacitor, which is one of the components that most limits the life of the inverter. Proper controls of these converters can
address this problem efficiently. In those solutions, the reference current calculation is one of the most important problems to
be addressed for reliable operation of converters under unbalanced grid faults. This article presents a comparison of the
reference current generation schemes, during a single-phase fault in the network..It provides an evaluation of the
performance of different techniques and being able to help in the selection of the appropriate control during major network
failures.
