Abstract

This paper approaches the issue of the partial introduction of electric vehicles in the public transport sector, analyzing the possible reduction of environmental pollution and fossil fuel consumption by replacing part of the real fleet as the main aim. Starting from the previous analyzes and the characterization of the vehicles fleet belonging to the company, a substitution is proposed based on the changes that would be made in the associated electrical system, as well as the electric vehicle technology itself through the technical, economic and environmental evaluation, taking into account two prototypes that are currently working. The results of the research show the benefits of replacing internal combustion cars with electric ones, based on the savings obtained in operation and maintenance, as well as the reduction of greenhouse emissions.
