Abstract

Energy sustainability is the result of the harmonious combination of energy security, social equity and environmental sustainability. The objective of the research was to demonstrate the possibilities of studying energy sustainability through the evaluation of the perception of risk considering the relationship between energy and the environment. Two human groups were used, one representing the public and the other an expert in energy management. The perceived risk profile approach was used. The results demonstrated the underestimation of risk, highlighting differences in perception between the groups. The findings of the study made it possible to identify weaknesses in training, with a more transcendental impact on the decision-making of managers, while for the public it made it possible to determine corrections to achieve support and adaptation to the measures designed. As a novelty, a tool for subjective risk assessment is provided aimed at energy sustainability.
